University of Arkansas Conducts Conclusive Food Safety Research on Uplift Products

Updated: Jul 8, 2019

It's almost 2019, haven't we already figured out just about all there is to know about basic food safety measures in this modern day and age? How could something so simple, yet revolutionary have slipped past our radar without us even noticing it?

Well, I'm not sure how else to answer that question other than, sometimes the biggest ideas are right under our noses. And sometimes they come in tiny packages, too. In this clip from my visit to the World Food Championships in Orange Beach, AL, I discuss how the small, but mighty Dining Elevated Flatware Rest is taking the academic, scientific, and consumer food safety worlds by storm. Organizations like the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO), Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE), the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), the Journal of Environmental Health (JEH) are all taking notice of the profoundly simple solution that cutlery rests provide. Silverware rests protect public health and the foodservice industry, all while looking fantastic and improving the diner's experience.

Dr. Kristen Gibson, professor of Food Science and Microbiology at the University of Arkansas, recently completed a formal study of flatware rests which prove a 100% effectiveness rate against the transmission of bacteria from tabletop surfaces to utensils. Results as definitive as these are not common in science and that's why it's starting to make waves. Dr. Gibson's research has been selected for presentation at the annual NEHA industry conference in Nashville, TN, July 2019, and with an audience of public health inspectors from around the nation in attendance, we are proud to share this common sense food safety solution that just might uplift the world.

The journey of obtaining academic credibility and support for the product was also brought in part by Dr. Charles Gerba and Dr. Kelly Reynolds of the University of Arizona. I want to thank them for their encouragement and guidance in this process as well!

Making their grand debut on the Esteemed Academic Research stage were the 4" Stainless Steel Triangle Uplifts and the 4" Midnight Sky Marble Uplifts. Get yours and protect you family and customers today.
